I write middle-grade fiction across genres. My debut novel, GET A GRIP, VIVY COHEN, will be published by Dial Books for Young Readers (Penguin Random House) in spring 2020. I am represented by Jennifer Udden of Barry Goldblatt Literary.

In 2015, I earned my PhD in History from the University of California, Los Angeles, where I've taught in the History and Gender Studies departments. Iā€m alway happy to talk about the history of women, medicine, and other history geek topics. You can find my academic work in Gender & History and Great Plains Quarterly.

Currently I live in Santa Barbara, California with my husband Neil and our goofy orange cat. I have a longstanding involvement in the disability rights and neurodiversity movements. I serve as chairperson of the Association for Autistic Community.
